With an impressive increase of up to 44% in brand value, Viettel is currently valued at up to USD 8,758 billion, ranked as the most valuable brand in Vietnam, second in ASEAN and 227 in the world by Ranking of the latest 500 global brands in 2022 announced by Brand Finance.
Viettel is in the top 10 brands with the fastest promotion (besides new businesses appearing on the list) in the ranking.
Viettel is the only Vietnamese enterprise in the Top 500 most valuable global brands. In 2022, Viettel brand is the most valuable telecommunications brand in Southeast Asia in this ranking. Indonesia has Telkom Indonesia ranked 490th, new to the list this year.
Thailand has a representative, PTT (state-owned oil and gas enterprise) ranked 377th. Singapore has 3 banks DBS (234), UOB (468), OCBC (482). Malaysia has Petronas (143). The Philippines has no brand in the top.
UOB entered the rankings for the first time, surpassing OCBC with a 23% increase in brand value. Petronas is ranked as the most valuable ASEAN brand. Telkom Indonesia is a new company entering the global top 500 for the first time thanks to a 22% increase in brand value.
Thus, Viettel is also the second most valuable brand in Southeast Asia at the moment, just after Petronas.
According to a report by Brand Finance, there are a total of 36 telecommunications brands in the Top 500. Verizon (10) is the most valuable telecommunications brand in the world. In second place is Deutsche Telekom (17), AT&T (26) dropped to third place, China Mobile (34) ranked fourth.
Viettel ranks 18th among telecommunications brands, ranking above many famous brands such as Nestlé (Switzerland); Qualcomm (USA); Spotify (Sweden); Lenovo (China); Claro (Mexico)…
Previously, in 2021, Viettel brand entered the top 500 strongest brands in the world, ranked 325 in the world, up 32 places compared to the previous year, and is also the only telecommunications brand in Southeast Asia present in Southeast Asia. in this ranking.
Also in 2021, according to Brand Finance’s Telecoms 150 2021 telecommunications brand rankings, Viettel has a brand value of more than 6 billion USD (up 3.4% compared to 2020), ranking 10th in Asia and No. 24 in the world, up 4 places globally compared to 2020.
Viettel’s brand value has doubled since the decision to transform from a business providing telecommunications services to becoming a pioneer and key in creating digital society in 2018, Brand Finance said. .
In 2020, Viettel is at 28th position in the Telecoms 150 ranking. In 2021, Viettel has surpassed SK Telecoms – the number one operator in Korea.
At the same time, Major General Le Dang Dung – former Acting Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group – also entered the top 150 of the world’s leading brand leaders. Mr. Le Dang Dung ranked 130th in the list of Brand Guardianship Index 2022 recently announced by Brand Finance.
