Vietnamese Talents Awards 2015 launched in Hanoi

The 11th Vietnamese Talents Awards, co-organised by Dantri, was officially launched in Hanoi on May 14, search for new talent and products in the fields of IT, applied sciences, medicine and the environment.

“The award this year will continue to act as a starting point for talented people and inventions that can be used in real life. I hope the entries will focus on environmental protection, hi-technology and the real estate sector, too,” said Le Thanh Thao, representing sponsor Tan Hoang Minh Group.

The annual award was initiated by the Vietnam Study Encouragement Association and co-organised by VNPT, Vietnam Television (VTV) and Dantri online newspaper.

It attracts more than 200 entries and many inventions have gone on to be used in education, healthcare, entertainment, tourism, tax management, transportation, corporate management and e-commerce.

The awards not only attract entries from local people but also from many Vietnamese who are living and working overseas. The ages of entrants have ranged from eight to 79.

One of the judges, Nguyen Van Hieu, highlighted during the launch media conference the need to address environmental problems.

“As a nature lover and a patriot, it hurts me to see diseases and especially pollution everywhere,” he said.

Hieu said that solutions, such as for waste treatment, should not remain on paper but be put into used.

Applications close on September 30. The judges will evaluate and examine the entries from October 1 to November 19. The award ceremony will be broadcast live on VTV1 on November 20.
