Within the framework of the “National Forum on Vietnam Technology Enterprise Development” (Make in Vietnam), Vietnamese enterprise MK Group has introduced a security chip developed by the company, which includes its own operating system. smaller than Windows 10 200,000 times. MK Group also presented the idea of ​​electronic citizenship card and electronic passport, which can be applied in the country’s digital transformation process in the future.

MK Group is currently the leading company in Southeast Asia for digital security and smart card authentication solutions with 20 years of experience. All research and production activities of this company are carried out in Vietnam, with two card manufacturing plants and two research and development centers (R&D) in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Speaking at the forum, Mr. Le Minh Quoc – Technical Director of MK Smart Company of MK Group said MK Group has successfully developed a security chip that integrates its own operating system, more compact than Windows 10 200,000 times. Security ecosystem on chip using MK’s operating system opens many applications such as OTP (One-time Password, one-time password), MoC (Matching-on-Chip, comparison in chips) or SoD (Security -on-Demand, private security algorithms on demand). According to forecasts, from 2016-2021, the world will annually produce 500 million electronic ID cards, of which 300 million in Asia alone. Many countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia or Thailand have switched to using electronic cards since the 2000s. Even countries such as Laos, Cambodia or Myanmar have had a transition route. Clearly, Vietnam is lagging behind.
