Vietnam introduces 30 leading IT firms to the world for the first time

The Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) announced the result of a programme to select 30 leading IT enterprises in Vietnam on October 27.

It was the first time Vietnam organized an activity to introduce enterprises to the world, but as soon as they launched “Vietnam’s 30 Leading ICT Companies 2014 program”, they received a particular interest of nationwide IT enterprises. The organization committee has received many records of attendance, but to keep pace with rate of progress to serve the 2014 Asian-Oceania Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO ICT) Summit and should be caution for a successful programme in the first year. For learning from experiences for the next time, this year VINASA restricted the fields of IT industry in two areas. Group 1: Providing BPO services, IT Outsourcing, Offshoring; Group 2: Providing solutions and packaged software.

The Jury Board voted for particular enterprises to participate in the program consisting of 17 members who are managers, IT professionals, media representatives … Dr. Mai Liem Truc, former Deputy Minister of Post and Communications, now the Ministry of Information and Communications is chairman. The Board of Jury installed 5 teams who verified and checked the businesses, they all passed the first round directly.

Dr. Mai Liem Truc, chairman of The Jury Board said that: “The chosen businesses are not the biggest but they take the lead in their market segment. They are also competitive with foreign businesses to penetrating the world market.”

It’s reported that 30 businesses participated in this program in 2013, using 15,000 employees, this is the white-collar workers with excellent skills, raked in more than $300 million USD. Many businesses are operating successfully in major markets such as Japan, Europe, America, and they are contributing greatly to improve reputation of Vietnam in the IT industry in the world, and they have made contributions to making Vietnam the second biggest software processing partner of Japan since 2012, Vietnam is now the most popular choice in software co-operation of Japanese businesses. Some software companies such as FPT Software, TMA solutions has the leading excellent human resource in Southeast Asia with high-level technology, is partners provide products and services to the leading corporations on the world (FPT Software: $ 101 million (2013), 6000 employees; TMA Solutions: $ 27 million (2013), 1,700 employees, …).

Besides, despite the situation of economy in the world has more volatile in recent years, but many businesses are in the list with an impressive average growth rate. During the last three years, the enterprises such as NTT DATA Vietnam achieved annual growth of 81.6%, KMS Technology: 77.6%. Moreover, Vietnamese businesses are also successful in the field of special business, to meet international standards like IFI Solutions (providing ITO service and Offshoring to the customer is the largest airline in the world ), MK Smart (a leader in the field of payment cards, MK Smart’s market has moved to Europe, Latin America and Africa). In domestic market, firms such as CMC, Tinh Van, CT-IN has developed stably, reputable, successful competition with foreign enterprises in Vietnam. Businesses on the list applied the processes of international quality management with high standard as ISO 9001: 2008, CMMI Level 5, ISO 27001: 2005.

To introduce 30 leading technology companies to the world, VINASA has prepared a special document “Vietnam’s 30 Leading ICT Companies 2014” in English and Japanese. VINASA has printed 8,000 documents along with the online version. In the framework of the 2014 Asian-Oceania Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO ICT) Summit held in Vietnam from 28-31/10/2014, 30 leading IT companies in Vietnam will be widely introduced to the delegates, especially the international delegates from nearly 20 countries and territories.

VINASA said that after this event, they will be through a system of their bilateral and multilateral international partners, including WITSA, ASOCIO, … to introduce these companies to nearly 100 nations and territories through its international partners for creating the opportunity to connect, collaborate, search for partners, potential clients. These 30 businesses will be issued a certificate; promoted, and introduced at international events such as the SODEC exhibition (Japan), the CeBIT exhibition (Germany),… by VINASA; and given priority to participate in the Promotion of Domestic or International Trade program which hold by VINASA.
