Useful features but not everyone knows on OPPO Reno2 series

Reno2 F and Reno2 are the latest smartphones from OPPO manufacturers, bringing together many design and configuration upgrades. And as usual, the duo continue to be equipped with ColorOS 6, OPPO’s interface kit based on Android platform – containing stand in which the small but extremely useful features.

So what are these features, and how to activate them?

More powerful machine with ‘High performance’ mode

In order to save battery power, help make the battery last longer, ColorOS 6 will adjust the performance of the machine to suit the needs of use, without increasing the CPU and GPU to the maximum. Therefore, those who want to ‘squeeze’ all the performance of Reno2 and Reno2 F can use High Performance Mode to help the machine’s hardware operate at full capacity, especially useful when doing tasks. Heavy services like gaming.

To activate, we access Settings> Battery and select High performance mode. Note that the smartphone may work a bit hotter, as well as the battery life will be reduced depending on the frequency of users using this mode.

Screen off, still controllable

ColorOS 6 gives users a way to access the application, control Reno2 / 2F without even having to turn on the screen: Gestures when turning off the screen. You can quickly open the camera, control music (increase the volume, transfer songs), turn on the flashlight … or you can assign anything that you use often.

You can activate the feature in the convenient Support> Gestures & motions> Gestures when screen off. Here we can turn off the preset gestures, as well as create new gestures depending on personal preferences, such as drawing the letter W to access the Chrome browser, for example!

App lock to increase security

Perhaps nothing is more frustrating than letting others borrow a device to do one thing, they turn on other applications to ‘scrutinize’ our personal life. The Reno2 duo has a feature to effectively solve this problem: lock each application with a digital password, fingerprint or face. Every time you open sensitive applications (messages, Facebook, Gmail …), we will implement a security layer so that anyone without access will not be able to access.

To activate App Lock, we access Fingerprint, Face, Password> App Lock, then select the applications that need to be locked. Of the three methods of unlocking, face unlock will have the fastest speed, but the fingerprint sensor under the screen is not slow at all.

Take photos with remote gestures

Have you ever reached your hand far away, or put your smartphone on a tripod to capture a group of friends and feel ‘pain in your hand’ with the shutter button? Reno 2 and Reno2 F have a feature to help you activate the shutter button remotely and without having to touch the screen: raise your hand quickly, the machine will count down 3 seconds then take a picture.

This feature can be opened by accessing the Camera app’s Settings, navigate to the Gesture button to take a photo.

Use the driving mode right away

If you are riding on the street and are constantly disturbed by messages, notifications and calls, it will surely be distracting and even dangerous. That’s why the Reno2 smartphone duo are equipped with Riding Mode, which helps us block all notifications and incoming calls until it is turned off.

This feature is located in the Smart Services section, where you can activate Bluetooth to connect to the device in the car, turn on call blocking (make an exception with certain people), ring with the repeat calls (urgent, important callers), turn on text replies with everyone who just called you.
