Last Friday, the US Council for International Relations (CFR) planned to host a roundtable in New York. As its name suggests, the main purpose of the “Corona virus business” conference is to share business strategies in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic raging in many countries, as well as in many US states.
However, because of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, CFR canceled the plan. Soon after, they announced the cancellation of a series of conferences scheduled to take place from March 11 to April 3 in New York, Washington and many other places across the United States.
This is just one of many mass gatherings canceled in the United States. Not long ago, the annual auto fair in New York was postponed to the end of August. In the severe epidemic, the US government sent the National Guard team to towns to disperse crowded areas to limit the spread of SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Across the US, more than 50 major events have been canceled, with an estimated total attendance of more than 1 million. In an optimistic way, more than 1 million people did not have to worry about protecting themselves when attending fairs and conferences crowded with the risk of extremely high virus spread.
