The service has long accepted that tweets from celebrities such as Mr. Trump are of public interest, even though they violate the terms.

The tweets removed by Twitter included content that had been previously flagged, “for the risk of violence”, all posted shortly after the Capitol riots. There were videos taken from earlier suggesting the rioters to “go home”, before adding: “We love you, you are very special”.
