Unicorn Sky Mavis announces new features and enhancements to the game Axie Infinity

Sky Mavis – the Vietnamese technology company co-founded with the famous NFT game Axie Infinity – has just announced a series of new features and products at the AxieCon Conference. The event was held from September 7-10 in Barcelona (Spain), attracting more than 1,000 attendees from around the world.

At AxieCon, Sky Mavis revealed that Axie Infinity: Origin will be renamed Axie Infinity: Origins to create a more distinct brand. In addition, Season 1 (season 1) will begin on September 14, with a total prize pool of 112,000 AXS (the in-game cryptocurrency Axie Infinity), equivalent to more than 1.5 million USD. In which, the player who wins first place will receive 6,750 AXS, equivalent to more than 100,000 USD.

Sky Mavis also shares a long-term project called “Land” with the ambition of “breaking the existing boundaries” of games in the Web3 platform – the decentralized internet generation. Land will be the place where Axie Infinity users play, interact and create their own “digital nation”. The globally renowned game creator said that Land will combine a variety of game genres (gameplay) including simulation, strategy and role-playing, as well as have elements of the virtual universe – metaverse so that the community can communicate and connect.

While Sky Mavis’ flagship Land game, also known as Project K, is in development, at AxieCon they are also excited to announce the launch of a separate mini-game using Land NFTs: Axie Infinity Raylights .

The Land NFT can be thought of as a primordial in the Axie Infinity universe just like Axie, which can be used in infinite experiences. In Raylights, due out in September, players use minerals to craft, grow, and discover different plants, which they can then use to decorate their plots. As they progress, they unlock new ingredients and classes, and collect more plants to display.

The Axie Infinity game ecosystem has reached 1 million daily users as of August 2021 and has the largest valuation of more than 4 billion USD. Besides the Vietnamese co-founder, Sky Mavis has a team of about 200 people around the world, of which Vietnamese personnel account for a large proportion. Sky Mavis said there are plans to increase this ratio and promote attracting more talent in the Southeast Asian country.
