Two features of iOS 15 developed by Apple exclusively for Vietnamese people
- Tram Ho
Last night, at the WWDC event for developers, Apple officially launched the latest version of the iOS operating system, iOS 15. iOS 15 brings a number of upgrades to the notification interface, Safari browser, and more. Weather apps, FaceTime, Do Not Disturb…
However, besides the above major features, Apple also gives Vietnamese users two more small upgrades.
VNI and VIQR . typing methods
On iOS 15, besides the familiar TELEX typing method, users have the option of inputting with VNI and VIQR typing methods. Specifically:
– VNI typing method: Use the number keys from 1 to 5 to remove the accent. For example, to type the word “Vietnamese”, the user will type “VIE-6-T-5” in turn. Because VNI requires a lot of use of the number keys, in this mode, the iOS 15 keyboard will always display the number sequence at the top.
– VIQR typing method: This is a rare typing method, but it is quite intuitive for those who are not familiar with typing because they will directly use pictograms to remove accents (eg ~ to add even though fall). Continuing to take the example of the word “Viet”, with VIQR, users will type “VIE-^-T-.” Like VNI, in VIQR typing mode, these marks will always be displayed at the top of the keyboard.
Although VNI and VIQR are not as popular as TELEX, the fact that Apple offers more choice is clearly a good thing for users.
Support swipe to
Besides entering data by typing each movie normally, iOS 15 also allows users to swipe (swipe) the keys to enter data faster. This feature is called “QuickPath” by Apple.
Unfortunately, in iOS 15 Beta 1 version, we have not been able to enable this feature. So maybe Apple will add it in later beta versions.
