According to CEO Jack Dorsey’s post, Twitter will start banning all political and election related ads from around the world, starting November 22.

Election candidates will no longer be able to use this social networking ad to reach voters. However, advertisements that encourage voters to vote will still be allowed. A full policy release will be released on November 15.

“We believe that the spillover of political messages should be received, rather than purchased,” said the Twitter CEO . A political message is likely to spread when people decide to retweet and follow the candidate’s account. We believe this decision should not be affected by money and advertisements. ”

Twitter’s decision came amid Facebook was having a similar problem. When the world’s largest social networking platform was accused of influencing the outcome of the US presidential election, it also made the fake news related to the candidate widely shared.

Twitter also has a number of policies that prevent politicians from giving false information, but have yet to use them. Twitter says it will restrict tweets from characters like President Donald Trump that violate the rules, leaving fewer users with access to them. But so far this feature has not been applied.

Facebook, meanwhile, has a complete opposite policy, allowing candidates to post misinformation. Even Facebook’s policy manager said that “we are not gatekeepers of the truth on the candidates’ ads.”
