At the OPPO Inno Day technology exhibition held in December, OPPO confirmed that it will launch many new products in the first quarter of 2020. After the launch of the Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro 5G, Chinese manufacturers are preparing to launch a new smartwatch model, wireless headphones and AR glasses.

Recently, OPPO Vice President Biran Shen unexpectedly shared the first teaser image of this smartwatch on Weibo, thereby revealing more information about its design right before its launch.

Looking at the image above, it can be seen that OPPO’s first smartwatch will come with a square watch face design, with rounded corners and a slightly curved screen. The frame is yellow with two physical buttons on the right edge, separated by a space.

Obviously, this design is quite similar to the Apple Watch models, although Apple’s smartwatch has a power button located below the Digital Crown control knob, instead of two physical keys like the device of OPPO. The space between these two keys can be the placement of the microphone, allowing users to use it to make calls without having to use a smartphone.

More importantly, it is still unclear whether OPPO’s smartwatch will be equipped with a SIM card slot (or support eSIM) or use Bluetooth connectivity to lower costs. However, we can be sure that it will be launched in the first quarter of this year, most likely to support the ECG ECG feature like the Apple Watch.
