A difficult and must-do thing in the past, is now handled by AI.
AI is emerging in all aspects of technology, especially those related to images. AI can turn black photos into colorful images, convert 2D images into complex 3D scenes or turn selfies into moving avatars. And now, we can also use AI to select tracks and delete objects in a video.
The only thing you need to do is draw a rectangle around things, and the software will do all the rest:
This AI is currently incomplete, so it can erase things but also leave unusual points in the video after deleting. But with longer learning time, surely AI will be advanced and do this job more perfectly.
The software was created by user Github named “zllrunning”, with two learning models, SiamMask and Deep Video Inpainting, with the first software to select things, and the latter to delete them from the video.
A similar technology has also been developed by Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, announced in May last:
Adobe also has an identical feature, which it applies to After Effects video editing software:
Similar technology is equipped for After Effects by Adobe
But unlike Adobe, the software posted on Github is open source, so anyone can download it for free. For those interested, you can follow the Github link to download and read the user guide.
