The world’s largest forum announced the number of daily users for the first time

Tram Ho

The world’s largest forum Reddit first announced its daily user count: 52 million and this number continues to grow rapidly. Revealing to the Wall Street Journal, Reddit said that October’s daily user base grew 44% from the same period last year – a measure of how important the forum is to their members. Come on.

Of course, compared to today’s famous social networks, the above numbers are still too small. Today Twitter has 187 million daily users, Snap has 249 million, and Facebook has 1.82 billion. But with the aforementioned enormous scale, there is no social networking service with a rapidly growing number of daily users like Reddit. In the most recent quarter, Twitter reported growth of 29% in daily users, Snap at 18% and Facebook at 12%.

Responding to WSJ, Reddit said the first-ever daily-user announcement “was an accurate reflection of user growth and more relevant to industry reports.” Another possible reason for Reddit’s decision to share these numbers is to increase ad revenue for this forum.

Previously, Reddit mainly published the number of monthly users. This time last year, the company said it had 430 million monthly users with up to 30% growth over the same period a year earlier. This momentum comes as Reddit starts improving its services.

After a significant redesign of the interface in 2018, this year the company started adding many new features like a photo gallery and voting tool. The company also focuses on removing some problematic communities on its website, in order to make the service more user-friendly for both advertisers and users.
