Huawei has just reported the business situation for the whole year 2019 with impressive results. Despite the U.S. sanctions and blocking Huawei’s business, the Chinese giant could still record a record $ 122 billion in revenue in 2019.
Chairman Eric Xu wrote in a New Year message to all employees, saying that the company achieved sales of 850 billion yuan ($ 122 billion) this year. This is Huawei’s record high revenue, up 18% from last year.
Huawei sold 240 million mobile devices this year, up from 206 million in 2018. Despite impressive business results, Chairman Eric Xu said: “These numbers are lower than expected. Our initial guess ”.
But the chairman of Huawei is quite cautious when it comes to 2020: “Survival will be the company’s top priority in 2020. If the US sanctions campaign continues to last, it will cause a lot of harder for this 32-year-old company to keep up and growing. ”
Huawei’s success in 2019 is largely due to the Chinese market, when the wave of support emerged after Huawei was punished by the US side. Meanwhile, the road to major markets around the world is still difficult, as Huawei’s smartphones are not yet allowed to install Google’s services and software.
