The TikTok clone app, paying viewers for videos that have just reached the top 1, has been removed on both iOS and Android

Tram Ho

In less than a month, the TikTok clone called Zynn quickly climbed to the top of both the App Store and Play Store. But soon after that, it also disappeared strangely.

On Monday, Zynn was removed from Apple’s App Store. 6 days earlier, this application was also removed from the Google Play Store. Zynn has a very similar interface to TikTok, with the main content being short videos, and has a special feature that pays users when they watch the videos. Besides, the introduction of friends using Zynn will also be rewarded.

It sounds very appealing, but in fact this app has a lot of problems. Content creators accuse Zynn of stealing their videos. The system of introducing friends to use applications is considered a multi-level model. In addition, users also accused the application of not allowing cash withdrawals.

After its launch in early May, Zynn has become the most downloaded iOS app in the US. Before being removed, the app had more than 5 million downloads on iOS and about 700,000 downloads on Android.

Zynn representatives said the application was removed from the App Store and Play Store due to content copyright issues. The short videos on Zynn seem to be taken from external platforms, like YouTube, TikTok or Instagram. Many fake accounts are created and posted videos of other content creators, while they are not aware.

Zynn representatives said the removal on the app store was only temporary, for further investigation. However, until now, this application has not returned to the App Store and Play Store.

Some users also accused Zynn of being a fraudulent application, when they tried to withdraw money from their accounts but encountered numerous incidents. It seems that this application is deliberately made it difficult to withdraw cash. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has been asked to conduct an investigation of this Chinese-origin application.

The owner of the Zynn app is a Chinese-based startup, valued at up to $ 30 billion. Startup Kuaishou launched Zynn in the North American market to compete with ByteDance’s TikTok. Meanwhile, Chinese version of Zynn Kwai is the second largest short video app in China, second only to Douyin (Chinese version of TikTok).
