Vietnam increased by 50 places in the world ranking of network security

Recently, there have also appeared many positive signals on ensuring network security in Vietnam. According to ITU’s global report of 2018 on network security, Vietnam is now in the top 50 countries in the global rankings. This group includes countries with a high level of commitment to cybersecurity and a strong interest in network security.

This is a big change for Vietnam when in 2017, we are still in the 100th position in this ranking. Notably, the absolute score of Vietnam in 2018 (0.693) increased 3 times compared to 2017 (0.245).

Vietnam is currently ranked 5th in the network security index in ASEAN region, losing to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar, said Nguyen Huy Dung – VAST.

ITU’s assessment is based on 5 main indicators: legal, technical, cooperation, organization and capacity building. According to Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, achieving the almost absolute threshold (0.183 / 0.2) in the group of organizational indicators shows that the legal corridor and the standard system in the field of cyber security in Vietnam have been The step is completed.
