The person behind Google Pixel’s algorithmic photography technology suddenly joined Adobe, developing a new camera application

Marc Levoy is a former director at Google who is behind the algorithm of photography technology of Pixel smartphones. Mr. Levoy left Google in May, and was surprised when he recently announced he would join Adobe.

Adobe said Marc Levoy will join the company as Vice President and director of camera application development. He will be responsible for leading and leading Adobe’s new direction, developing a smartphone photography application.

Adobe did not elaborate on the plan to develop the camera application for its smartphone. But proud that Levoy will help recreate algorithmic photography technology to take and edit photos on smartphones.

This can be considered a betrayal to Google. Because Adobe has complete algorithmic photography technology, which is considered proprietary on Pixel smartphones. That means that algorithmic photography can be universal on all Android smartphones.

Night Sight is considered to be an extremely unique algorithmic photography feature on Pixel smartphones.

While at Google, Mr. Marc Levoy led the team developing HDR +, Night Sight and Portrait camera features on Pixel smartphones. All of these features use AI and algorithms to achieve effects that may require specialized hardware.
