The new iPad Pro is likely to launch in April, the 12.9-inch version will be equipped with a Mini LED display

As reported by Bloomberg, Apple is preparing to launch some of its new iPad models. The new iPad Pro will be launched in April. Besides, there will also be a new iPad mini with a larger screen and a basic iPad version.

The new iPad Pro will have a similar design to the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, launched in March of last year. The main difference is the processor, which will have performance on par with the M1 chip found in Apple’s latest Mac computers. Besides, the new iPad Pro will also get an improved camera.

According to Bloomberg, the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro is likely to come equipped with a Mini LED display. This screen will deliver higher contrast and less burn-in than OLED screens. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also confirmed that the first device equipped with Apple’s Mini LED display will be the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

Bloomberg also revealed that Apple is testing new iPad Pro models with Thunderbolt ports, which can transfer data faster than the USB-C port on current iPad Pro models.

In addition to the new iPad Pro, Apple is also developing an upgrade of the iPad mini, with a screen larger than the current 7.9-inch screen (the smallest size of the iPad line). The last time Apple upgraded the iPad mini was in 2019, after there hasn’t been any update since 2015. The new iPad mini could also be released this year.

Apple’s base iPad model can be upgraded as well, with a thinner and lighter design. According to Bloomberg, the new iPad model will also be released this year, but it is unclear when.
