The Netherlands recalled 600,000 masks imported from China, after discovering they were defective

The Dutch government has just ordered hospitals across the country to recall 600,000 masks imported from China earlier, after discovering that the masks were faulty. This is a mask set ordered from China, to help the country’s health workers fight the Covid-19 epidemic.

The Dutch Ministry of Health said: “Unqualified masks are being withdrawn.”

NOS TV station of the Netherlands said that the faulty masks do not meet the safety requirements, because they do not cover the faces of doctors and nurses, so do not prevent the drops to shoot for can transmit corona virus.

A hospital employee told NOS: “When these masks were shipped to our hospital, I refused to use them. If the masks are not designed properly, they will not prevent the virus from spreading. ”

The Netherlands is not the only European country to report receiving defective medical devices from China. Last week, Spain also reported that China’s fast Covid-19 test kits had very low accuracy rates. Experts in the Czech Republic also responded that the Chinese test kits were faulty.

In the near future, it is possible that European countries will import Vietnamese test kits to replace Chinese test kits.
