The GAMELOFT GAME JAM 2019 contest closes with many unique games

The awarding ceremony of Gameloft Game Jam 2019 took place at Gameloft Vietnam office in 3 studios Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City on 12/12.

Game Jam 2019 – a 48-hour game programming contest organized by Gameloft Vietnam with the theme “Sustainability” for students and professionals who are passionate about game creation. The competition starts from 7pm on November 8, 2019 at all 3 locations in Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh City and ends at 7pm on 11/10/2019.

The contest has attracted the participation of 57 teams in 3 big cities with the total number of contestants attending up to 250 people. Accompanying the contestants during the competition were more than 20 experts including Programmer, Producer, Trainers at Gameloft and 10 judges who are the industry’s top managers and game designers.

After 48 hours of “hacking the brain”, designing, programming, and perfecting the features, Game Jam 2019 leaders excelled to bring unique game ideas to convey the message of “Sustainable Development” ”- the theme of this year’s competition.

For the student table, the final victory belonged to the Super Team with 4 members from the University of Information Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. With the idea of ​​casual games for kids aged 6 – 12, Econation game brings basic knowledge about environmental protection in parallel with the development of the economy. The second and third prizes belonged to the 8-bit team from TP respectively. HCM and LLTN team from Hanoi.

Regarding the expert panel, the NoPowerup team completely convinced the judges to win the first prize nationwide with the game Trash but not really. Specifically, this is a game that reuse different types of garbage such as plastic bottles, carton boxes, cans … into toys for children, helping to increase their creativity and imagination. Possessing a unique idea and a high level of perfection, Trash but not really is considered one of the potential games that can continue to develop and market. The two Master Chess teams from Da Nang and Incognito from Ho Chi Minh City are the leaders of the 2nd and 3rd panel experts.

Closing Game Jam 2019, Gameloft Vietnam has found a portrait of the 6 best champions of 2 student tables – experts representing young, passionate, creative efforts in the field of games .

The competition is a launch pad for young people who love game programming to have a chance to practice and learn from experts at Gameloft. From here, the game programming and design industry became increasingly popular, gradually becoming the career choice of many young people in the 4.0 era.
