The Alt Tab feature was broken by the new Windows update, seriously affecting gamers. And here’s how to fix it!
- Tram Ho
Not long ago, Microsoft released a cumulative update for Windows 10 with code KB5005033 to fix some security bugs. For those who have installed the previously released optional update KB5004296 (fixes gaming performance issues), KB5005033 is a required update.

However, this update causes another serious problem related to the switch between open windows that almost everyone uses is the Alt + Tab key combination. Specifically, if you are playing the game in full screen mode (full screen) and press Alt+Tab to switch to another application (for example, switch to Art Money to hack money, or check mail, surf FB .. .) then when you return to the game with Alt+Tab it will be thrown back to the desktop.

On the Reddit forum, a user reported this error: “When playing the game in full screen mode, using the Alt + Tab key will have the screen black, and there is no way to return to the game.”. If you are also facing this problem, then follow these 2 ways to fix it “temporarily” while waiting for Microsoft to release a new update to completely handle this error.
Method 1: Disable News and interests
Someone tried and found out: it seems the News and interests feature is in conflict with other applications (including games). To temporarily fix this problem, we need to disable News and interests.
You do the following:
Step 1: Right-click on any empty spot on the Taskbar

Step 2: Find News and interests, select Turn off.
Method 2: Uninstall the update causing the error
Step 1: Go to Settings (shortcut: Windows + I)
Step 2: You open Update & Security

Step 3: Select View update history

Step 4: Select Uninstall updates

Step 5: Installed Updates window will appear. Here, you choose KB5005033 and press the Uninstall button.

After you have removed the update, you need to delay the updates until Microsoft releases the next update.
Good luck!
