Musk wrote on Twitter with more than 31 million of his followers: “The coronavirus panic is dumb” (It is silly to panic because of the corona virus). Tesla’s super-brief tweet has received more than 1.5 million likes and hundreds of thousands of comments from netizens with mixed opinions.

Notably, the previous posts on Musk’s Twitter only had a few tens of thousands to a few hundred thousand likes. Meanwhile, a five-word tweet expressing his views on the billionaire’s corona virus has attracted millions of likes, showing the “heat” of the Covid-19 epidemic.

In the context of the worldwide concern for Covid-19, many essential items, and especially masks and toilet paper are being rushed to accumulate people, causing the situation of out-of-stock and scarcity. However, as recommended by experts, we should not reserve too much, but just buy just enough to avoid the excess of one person, the other does not have to use.

Covid-19 spread rapidly throughout the Northern California area where Tesla’s headquarters are located. On March 4, the state confirmed the first case of death due to Covid-19, an elderly patient, returning from Diamond Princess yacht.

The next day, California declared a state of emergency. Speaking at a press conference, Gavin Newsom, the state governor, emphasized that they are taking all measures to help identify cases and reduce the spread of Covid-19.

As of March 8, the US had 447 infections and 19 deaths from Covid-19. To date, more than 3,000 people are still isolated on the Grand Princess yacht off San Francisco, California, of which, at least 21 people on board were positive for Covid-19.

Facebook, Microsoft and Amazon have confirmed that at least one official or seasonal employee has been positive for Covid-19 in Washington state, which currently has the largest number of infections in the United States. Therefore, a number of technology companies with huge employees such as Facebook, Amazon, Twitter, Google and Microsoft have encouraged employees to work from home instead of going to the company to avoid spreading Covid-19.

Since early March, employees at Amazon headquarters in Seattle have been offered a home-based job until the end of the month, after one of them contracted Covid-19. Similarly, Google recommends that employees not come to the office and requests not to bring visitors to the office during this time.

Earlier this week, Facebook even had to close one of its Seattle offices after an employee contracted Covid-19. About 5,000 employees are required to work remotely through the end of March.

Microsoft also allows employees in Seattle and San Francisco to work from home until March 25. Not outside the “trend”, Twitter encourages thousands of employees around the globe to work from home.

On the Tesla side, the company’s representative did not provide feedback on the question of how the company would react if an employee had Covid-19. Not long ago, the American electric car company had to admit that the outbreak of Covid-19 could have a serious detrimental impact on its business operations. According to estimates, Musk lost about 6.74 billion USD in a sell-off in just the past 2 weeks due to fear of corona virus covering the market.
