The 4nm Snapdragon 895 chip series will be co-produced by both Samsung and TSMC?

Qualcomm is currently developing the next generation Snapdragon 800 series processor family. There is information that the new chip line will be called Snapdragon 895. Currently, the details related to this chip are gradually being revealed.

According to reputable leaker Ice Universe , Snapdragon 895 will be a chip line running on the 4nm process and manufactured by Samsung.

Besides, the Snapdragon 895 Plus/Snapdragon 895+ variant launched in the second half of 2022 will be manufactured by TSMC. Thus, there will be an interesting change in structure and function between Snapdragon 895 and Snapdragon 895+.

There is information that Snapdragon 895 will bear the code name “SM8450”, equipped with Kryo 760 CPU, Adreno 730 GPU, Spectra 680 ISP and integrated Snapdragon X65 5G modem.

Although it is not clear when the official launch of the new Snapdragon 895 chip line, but traditionally, Qualcomm will probably launch this chip later this year.

The first smartphone models using the Snapdragon 895 chip are expected to be announced at the end of the year or early 2022. Among those smartphone models are expected to be Xiaomi Mi 12 and Samsung’s next Galaxy S series.
