Some iPhone 12 Pro users are complaining about the battery drain for unknown reasons

Some iPhone 12 Pro owners have complained on the Apple Support Forum about the device draining excess battery while in sleep state. This is also a problem that has been happening on other Apple products for many years.

In a topic shared by the user “Master26A”, the problem was detected on an iPhone 12 Pro with a depleted battery while the device did not have any background tasks with a battery drop rate of up to 4%, higher than the previous iPhone 11 Pro.

Master26A tried to fix the problem by disabling the 5G connection, although the battery drain continued at a relatively high rate. Moreover, forum members also revealed, their iPhone 12 Pro accidentally continuous Wi-Fi connection.

“No matter what I try, the battery capacity seems to drop strangely fast. Not to the point where the device is unusable or drained, but I guess this is the one,” Master26A said . questionable problem. I checked the battery report and didn’t see any real ‘culprits’, just the battery condition dropped rapidly for no apparent reason.

More than 1,000 other forum members have also reported similar issues on this post. Some people believe that they have found the problem of excessive battery drain related to the dual SIM feature of the iPhone, but the theory has not been confirmed.

The user “ApplesPears88” shared a screenshot of the battery consumption curve on the device and described persistent battery drain even without running background tasks or other activities. This person also added that a representative from Apple came to check and run a diagnostic test on the machine and did not find any questionable points. Then they said that the problem was with the software.

The graph shows the battery capacity drops significantly between night and morning, when the machine is in standby mode and there is no background task.

Owners are reporting similar problems with other iPhone 12 models on Reddit and social networks.

Apple has faced a lot of battery drain issues in the past. IOS 6.1, for example, severely affected battery life on iPhone 4S models in 2013. A year later, the Mac’s system software was also the cause of the battery problem on the MacBook Air.

Recently, a bug in Apple Music was also identified as the culprit causing the iPhone battery drain issue in July. In October, Apple rolled out an update to watchOS 7 that addressed similar issues on the Apple Watch.
