As for the new Gen 10 iPad, this is another “makeover” when now Apple’s “cheap” iPad model finally switches to a new, more modern and beautiful design. The “cheap” iPad now looks a lot like the iPad Air, all using the same design language, many colors and even the price is not as cheap as the previous iPad Gen 8, 9 lines.

iPad Gen 10 expected starting price in Vietnam from 13.9 million

Right after Apple sent a press release to launch the product, retail systems in Vietnam also quickly updated the price of the newly launched iPad duo. Specifically, refer to the CellphoneS system, with the iPad Pro 2022, the starting price for the 11 and 12.9-inch versions is 23.99 million and 32.99 million dong, respectively. This price is unchanged from the selling price of the M1 version launched last year.

However, with the iPad Gen 10, the starting price of this device is expected from 13.99 million VND for the 64GB Wi-Fi version. The most expensive version is 256GB 5G, which costs even up to 21.99 million VND. The device also only has 2 memory options 64GB and 256GB, no 128GB, similar.

It is easy to see that the iPad Gen 10 has almost the same price as the iPad Air. Also refer to the CellphoneS system, iPad Air 4 is priced at 13.99 million VND, and iPad Air 5 with M1 chip also costs only 14.59 million VND for the lowest memory option. With the FPT Shop system, the iPad Air 5 costs VND 15.99 million (excluding other incentives) while the iPad Air 4 has been discontinued.

In terms of configuration, iPad Gen 10 uses Apple A14 chip, similar to iPad Air 4, all other parameters from screen, camera, battery life are almost the same from iPad Air 4. iPad Gen 10 is easy to notice. It’s basically just a cut-down version of the iPad Air 4, and Apple has limited features, like not being compatible with the Apple Pencil 2 or only being compatible with the new Magic Keyboard Folio.

Who is the “cheap” iPad for?

In fact, Apple completely purposefully launched product lines with close prices. If an older product is likely to affect the sales of a newly launched product, Apple will stop selling the old product line. This is most obvious in iPhone generations, like when the iPhone 14 Pro series was released, the entire old iPhone Pro series was no longer sold. A few stores that still sell are only in stock and will soon run out of stock if the market demand is large.

This is also applied by Apple to the iPad line. The upcoming iPad Air 4 will soon be out of business, ceding the price segment to the iPad Gen 10.

“There is a gap between iPad Gen 9 and iPad Air in terms of appearance and performance, encouraging users to upgrade more. Apple introduces iPad Gen 10 in the middle segment to expand its product range. This product line will still be suitable for a certain user group,” Huy shared.

As expected, the iPad Gen 10 will soon open for sale in the Vietnamese market in mid-November. The purchasing power of Mr. Huy is predicted to be higher than the iPad Air 5 during its lifetime.
