Samsung’s patent reveals the Galaxy Note 20 will have a super-curved screen, but it still has a physical button on the side

Samsung has been a pioneer in smartphone design with a dual-screen curved design, even this design has been a symbol of the Galaxy S or Galaxy Note smartphones for a long time.

However, since the recent Galaxy Note 10 to Galaxy S20, Samsung has made the screen edges less curved. One of the reasons is because if the screen edge is too curved, the user may accidentally touch it, affecting the user experience.

But it seems that Samsung will return to this design, on upcoming smartphones. A newly registered patent from Samsung has revealed the ultra-curved screen design, similar to Huawei’s Mate 30 Pro. And more specifically, those physical keys are located right on that curved screen.

Huawei’s Mate 30 Pro uses screen lock keys and volume keys with touch, on the curved side of the screen. Samsung does not want to do so, but still wants to use physical keys to provide the best experience.

Google has just revealed one of the new features of the upcoming Android 11 operating system, which will be to optimize the experience on smartphones with curved screen edges. Therefore, the possibility of Samsung returning to use this design on the upcoming Galaxy Note 20 is very large.

Like the Galaxy S20 that was renamed from last year’s Galaxy S10, Samsung is likely to launch Galaxy Note 20 instead of Note 11 in the second half of this year. In addition, it promises to have a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra version with a super configuration, an impressive 108MP camera cluster with 100x zoom capability, super huge battery. In short this will be a very desirable smartphone.
