Samsung has patented a new smartphone, with a unique transparent design, based on its brand new display technology. According to the patent documents, this technology can help create a completely transparent mobile device, but still retain full display functionality.
To help visualize this unique smartphone of the future, members of LetsGoDigital created a quite detailed render. Based on this render drawing, we can envision what a transparent Samsung smartphone would look like.
It was a smartphone with a thin screen bezel. There is no notch or selfie camera hole. And can be seen from front to back, it feels like this is just a glass, not a smartphone.
Of course this is just a concept on paper, and it will take a lot of time to turn this idea into reality. Samsung not only needs special display technology, but also has to make the key components become super small, to be able to put the components on the bezel instead of the traditional layout.
So who would want a smartphone with such a transparent screen? The answer can be anyone, because the smartphone market is now too boring and there is very little innovation. In addition, smartphones with transparent screens can help clearly see the surroundings, better support for augmented reality applications.
Let’s wait and see if Samsung can make this unique idea come true.
