Apparently, the renowned American chipmaker is looking for a different location to produce high-end mid-range products and at the same time reduce the burden on main partner TSMC.

With Snapdragon 750G, this will be the successor to the Snapdragon 730G and will be manufactured on an 8nm process to reduce costs.

Despite using the same 8nm process, this chipset is expected to have some improvements over its predecessor. Improvements include increased CPU, graphics and AI performance.

X52 5G modem built-in chip supports both mmWave and sub-6 5G technologies. Some upcoming models may be equipped with Snapdragon 750G including Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite and Galaxy A42.

Winning the Snapdragon 750G production orders is a huge plus for Samsung in its effort to increase its foundry market share.

According to TrendForce ratings, TSMC is the current market leader with 53.9% market share. Following TSMC is Samsung with 17.4% market share. Samsung’s market share is expected to increase over 20% next year if it continues to gain more orders for new chip production.
