Just nearly 3 months ago, Samsung introduced the Galaxy A02s, the A-series smartphone with a cheap price of just over 3 million VND (genuine price in the Vietnamese market), then today, Samsung launched. The standard Galaxy A02 even has a cheaper price of only about $ 100, equivalent to 2.3 million dong.
Due to being a cheap device, the Galaxy A02 uses Samsung’s rather old design, including a plastic back with dual camera clusters placed vertically and a “water drop” screen on the front. However, the design advantage of this device is that the back of the Galaxy A02 is completed with diagonal stripes, providing a more comfortable grip. It only has a 13MP wide-angle camera with a 2MP macro camera.
The front of the Galaxy A02 is an Infinity-V “water drop” screen, using a TFT LCD panel to optimize production costs. This screen measures 6.5 inches and the resolution stops at HD +. The “water drop” area is the location of the 5MP selfie camera.
In terms of performance, the Galaxy A02 comes with a MediaTek MT6739W chip running at 1.5GHz. This is a chip designed specifically for machines with low prices under $ 150. In addition, the machine has the option of 2GB / 3GB RAM, 32GB / 64GB storage and external memory card support. The battery comes with a large capacity of 5000mAh, supporting charging at 7.75W through the microUSB port. The device also has a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom edge.
In terms of selling price, currently, Galaxy A02 is only introduced in the Thai market with the price of 2999 THB, equivalent to 2.3 million VND. It is not clear whether Samsung plans to distribute this cheap smartphone to many other markets.
