Although Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series has not been launched yet, there have been quite interesting rumors about Samsung’s upcoming flagship line.

According to leaker @Ice Universe , Samsung’s next flagship could launch with a 6.06-inch screen. This size is smaller than the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S20 when both have a 6.2-inch screen and even smaller than the Galaxy S10 screen with a size of 6.1 inches.

In fact, the screen size of the S22 will be somewhere between the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S10.

If this rumor is true, it is quite similar to the previous rumor that Samsung is expected to equip the Galaxy S22 with a smaller battery than its predecessor. Specifically, the device will have a 3,700mAh battery and is smaller than the 4,000mAh figure of the Galaxy S21. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S22+ will also have a reduced battery capacity from 5,000mAh to 4,800mAh.

It is possible that Samsung is gradually shifting to devices with smaller screen sizes. This is something that Apple and Asus have been doing in recent times.

Besides, adjusting to a smaller screen size is also a way for Samsung to reduce power consumption, especially when the next-generation Galaxy S model is expected to use the new Snapdragon 895 chip.

It is currently unclear if Samsung plans to change the screen size of other models such as the Galaxy S22+ or Galaxy S22 Ultra, but the larger size could widen the gap between the standard models and the Plus version.

However, this will be a curious move for the technology world because Samsung is already too popular with large-screen smartphones, such as the Galaxy Note series. However, this could be a good move for those who prefer small, easy-to-handle machines. Because according to Ice Universe, the body of the Galaxy S22 “mini” version will be smaller than the new iPhone 13.
