ROG Phone 5s launched: Snapdragon 888+, 18GB RAM, priced from 24.6 million

ASUS has just introduced two new high-end gaming smartphones, called ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro. This is considered an upgraded version of the ROG Phone 5 launched earlier this year, in which both models are equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888+ processor and have up to 18GB of RAM.

ROG Phone 5s Pro

ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro still retain the 6.67-inch AMOLED E4 screen with Full HD + resolution and 144Hz refresh rate on ROG Phone 5. However, the screens of these two phones are upgraded in speed. touch sampling from 300Hz to 360Hz, much more sensitive than the previous generation.

In terms of design, ROG Phone 5s is not too different from ROG Phone 5 – it’s still the ROG logo with RGB lights on the back. Meanwhile, ROG Phone 5s Pro is equipped with a ROG Vision screen and has two more Air Triggers touch keys on the side. In addition, the screens of both devices are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Moving to the back, ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro carry a system of 3 horizontally arranged cameras, including 64MP main sensor Sony IMX686, 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera and 5MP macro camera. In addition, they also have a 24MP camera on the front for selfies and video calling.

ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro come with a 6000mAh battery, which supports 65W HyperCharge fast charging via the USB-C port. These two phones have an integrated fingerprint sensor under the screen, support for 2 nano standard SIMs, Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, NFC, dual speakers, 4 microphones with noise cancellation technology, a 3.5mm headphone jack and pre-installed ROG UI interface based on Android 11 operating system when sold.

Price and release time

As expected, ROG Phone 5s will officially go on sale in Taiwan from August 24 with a starting price of 29990 TWD (about 24.6 million dong) for the 16GB RAM + 256GB ROM version, while the more advanced version with 18GB RAM + 512GB ROM costs 33990 TWD (about 27.9 million VND). The device has two color options: Black (Phantom Black) and White (Aurora White).

As for ROG Phone 5s Pro, this phone will be on sale for 37990 TWD (equivalent to 31.2 million VND) for the 18GB RAM + 512GB ROM version. The device only has a Black color option (Phantom Black) and comes with an AeroActive Cooler 5 cooling fan inside the box.
