As expected, Apple will officially launch iPhone 12 in October this year. At the same time, this is also the first year Apple has launched up to four iPhones at the same time, spanning many different segments.
Recently, leak specialist “L0vetodream” – who has fairly accurate judgments about Apple products, has just revealed the name of the upcoming iPhone 12 line through an article posted on Twitter.
Specifically, this person said that the four upcoming iPhones will be called “iPhone 12 mini”, “iPhone 12”, “iPhone 12 Pro” and “iPhone 12 Pro Max”.
Based on the screen size, it can be speculated that the iPhone 12 mini will be the name of the smallest model with a 5.4-inch screen. Meanwhile, the 6.7-inch model will be the iPhone 12 Pro Max, while the other two 6.1-inch models will be named iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro.
In fact, this is a pretty reasonable naming scheme for the upcoming iPhone 12 line. The use of the “Pro” and “Pro Max” suffixes follows the precedent set by Apple for the previous generation. In addition, since the upcoming iPhone line has a total of four models, Apple may use four different names to help users distinguish more easily.
If the information is correct, the iPhone 12 mini will be the first iPhone to have the suffix “mini” in the name. It has also been used by Apple in the past when naming the iPad mini, Mac mini, and iPod mini.
With a 5.4-inch screen, the iPhone 12 mini is even smaller than the Phone 11 Pro – the smallest iPhone in 2019, which only had a 5.8-inch screen. According to the report, all four upcoming iPhone models of Apple will support 5G network connectivity, equipped with A14 Bionic chip on a 5nm process similar to the iPad Air 4 (also known as iPad Air 2020).
