Revealing a ‘stealth’ superyacht made entirely of mirror glass, only for the super rich

Tram Ho

Renowned designer Jozeph Forakis has just announced the concept of a luxury superyacht made entirely of mirror glass, capable of reflecting its surroundings. Named Pegasus, the 88m-long superyacht is also said to be ‘invisible in both design and environmental impact’.

It is known that the Pegasus yacht will be equipped with solar panels hidden around and on the ship’s superstructure, helping to provide solar power for the ship to operate, in parallel with the engine. hydrogen-electric hybrid. Accordingly, the energy obtained from the solar panels will in turn be used to power electrolysis machines that extract hydrogen from seawater.

The generated electricity is then stored in a Li-ion battery to power the Azimuth thruster/Azimuth propulsion system – a type of propulsion device in which the propeller is usable. housed in a gourd that could rotate in all directions in the horizontal plane, eliminating the need for a rudder.

The superyacht will be built using a robotic 3D printer to mesh the entire boat, making it the world’s first yacht built using this technology. According to designer Jozeph Foakis, this will create an extremely strong yet lightweight structure that can be closed using less energy, materials, waste, space and time than conventional methods. conventional shipbuilding.

The boat has a minimalist design that reflects life in nature. Inside the ship is a row of lively greenery, while the outside of the ship offers unobstructed views of the sea in all directions. The yacht’s interior features four floors – connected by a sculptural spiral staircase – with spacious foyer. The Pegasus even has a multi-tiered hydroponic garden called the ‘Tree of Life’, which runs vertically through all four decks of the ship, providing fresh food such as vegetables and fruits, and helping to purify the air. on the train.

On the top deck of the yacht, Pegasus has a master bedroom, with a large private terrace that is accessible only to the owner of the yacht. Finally, the swimming pool located at the front of the ship is designed like an aquarium, with the two sides of the tank being transparent. When closed, the pool cover functions as a helipad.
