Some recent rumors suggest that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will be redesigned and have entered mass production. Last month’s report said that Apple may remove the Touch Bar from the MacBook Pro, but then it is unclear what Apple will replace it with.
Now, a flurry of rumors have surfaced that the Touch Bar will be replaced by the Apple Pencil, based on a new patent granted to Apple earlier this week.

Touch Bar on old MacBook Pro…
“This invention relates to an Apple Pencil tray that attaches to a MacBook keyboard. While the Pencil can be placed in the holder, it can also be used as a mouse pointer. More unique, the built-in lighting system allows the Pencil to replace the F-Key series with full functionality when it is projected into the Apple Pencil tray, ”said the patent content.
F-Key is a sequence of function keys from F1 to F12 located at the location of the Apple Pencil on older MacBooks. In addition, the patent shows that even if the F-Key sequence is erased, it can be optionally placed by the user in another position, such as the position of the number sequence from 1, 2, 3 to 0, -, =.

With these descriptions, designer Sarang Sheth built a 3D model of the new MacBook Pro based on the Apple Pencil patent. And as you can see, the Touch Bar has been shrunk down to only contain Siri and some buttons to quickly open other apps.
In the past, Apple was not very interested in the touch screen Mac. Apple aims to develop macOS in a way that is most comfortable and natural for users, not touch-based.

However, that may be because the technology at the time was not responsive. With the self-designed M1 chip instead of the Intel chip, Apple has brought more performance to the MacBook Pro 2020. The next generation M2 is expected to achieve even higher performance based on the powerful, economical 4nm process. power and also more cores.
The M2 chip is rumored to be used on the MacBook Pro 2022, while the MacBook Pro 2021 released later this year may only use the improved version of M1X.
