Today (August 2), Xiaomi has just launched a new smartphone model in the Redmi Note 10 series, whose full name is Redmi Note 10 JE. This is the eighth model in the series, sold exclusively in the Japanese market.
The Redmi Note 10 JE has the same design as the Redmi Note 10 5G but comes with a few changes in specifications. More importantly, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 processor, instead of MediaTek Dimensity 700.
The device adds IP68 water and dust resistance, but comes with a smaller 4800mAh battery (18W fast charging) and no dual speakers. Besides, it also only supports a single SIM, compatible with FeliCa/Osaifu-Keitai – the popular mobile payment system in Japan.
Apart from the aforementioned differences, the other specifications of the Redmi Note 10 JE are similar to those of the Redmi Note 10 5G. The phone has a 6.5-inch LCD screen with Full HD + resolution, 1500:1 contrast ratio and 90Hz adaptive refresh rate.
Inside, the device brings hardware power from Snapdragon 480 processor, combined with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of UFS 2.2 internal memory, which supports expansion via microSD card up to 1TB. In terms of imaging capabilities, the device has a 48MP (main) + 2MP (macro) + 2MP (depth) camera cluster on the back and an 8MP selfie camera on the front.
Redmi Note 10 JE supports 5G network connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GNSS, USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack. The device is pre-installed with MIUI 12.5 interface based on Android 11 operating system when sold, not included with a charger.
As expected, Redmi Note 10 JE will officially hit shelves in Japan from August 13, exclusively sold through KDDI carrier. Currently, the specific selling price of this phone has not been officially announced.
