Redmi – a sub-brand of Xiaomi, has just launched a new model router in China, called Redmi AX6. This product has Wi-Fi 6 support, which is an upgraded version of the Redmi AX5 that the company introduced in June, with a retail price of 399 yuan (about 1.3 million).
In terms of design, the Redmi AX6 still carries Xiaomi’s signature white color tone, the design is simple, sleek and elegant. It is equipped with a total of 6 independent antennas and signal amplifiers, has physical dimensions of 320 x 320 x 55mm and weighs 0.95kg.
Redmi AX6 possesses the hardware power of Qualcomm’s 6-core business processor, including 4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz and 2 NPU cores for hardware acceleration, clocked at 1.7GHz and is manufactured based on 14nm process.
In addition, this router also supports the new Wi-Fi 6 standard, dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz – providing wireless data transfer speeds up to 2976Mbps, 2.55 times more than Redmi AC1200. Of course, it also has a Gigabit network port like the company’s earlier models.
Redmi AX6 supports OFDMA technology, which allows the router to send data to multiple terminals using just one line. Besides, it also supports Mesh Hybrid and pair with other devices with just one button, and gives a free 3-month subscription to Tencent’s Game Accelerator service.
If you do not know, Redmi AX5 was introduced in June as the first model of Wi-Fi 6 router to carry the Redmi brand. In addition, the parent brand Xiaomi has also launched two Wi-Fi 6 router models this year, the Mi Router AX1800 and the Mi AIoT Router AX3600.
