On April 13, an account on the R *** forums.com hacker forum posted a document of 7 million lines of data believed to contain the personal information of all users on Tailieu.vn. This is one of the few websites sharing documents, essays, and textbooks with a large number of users in Vietnam.

According to data from SimilarWeb, Tailieu.vn has about 1 million hits in March 2020. In order to view or download data on this website, users must register for a member account. Some documents require users to upgrade to a VIP member, with a fee of about 80,000 VND for 1 year of use.

Reportedly, the person sharing these documents on the hacker forum R *** forums.com has the nickname “VNleakerVN”. To access the said database, viewers will have to pay a fee of 8 credits (currency on the forum), equivalent to more than 50,000.

As noted by the PV, the data shared on R *** forums are all personal details including account name, full name, date of birth, email address and phone number. , … of each of these accounts. Notably, this is only a small part of the huge data warehouse shared by anonymous account holders.

The article of the ‘VNLeakerVN’ account also indicated the time when the database extracted of tailieu.vn was supposed to fall in November 2019.
