President Donald Trump’s Twitter is permanently locked

This morning (Vietnam time), Twitter officially announced the permanent lock of President Donald Trump’s account. The move comes shortly after Mr. Trump tweeted again after a 12-hour hiatus due to his supporters attacking the US Congress building on Capitol Hill on Jan. 6.

In its announcement, Twitter detailed the reason for its decision.

” After scrutinizing recent Tweets from @realDonaldTrump and the context around them – in particular how they were received and interpreted inside and outside Twitter – we decided to permanently lock the account. due to the risk of inciting further violence.

In the wake of this week’s horrifying events, we made it clear Wednesday that additional violations of Twitter’s Rules will likely lead to this action. Our framework of common interests exists to allow the public to hear directly from elected officials and world leaders. It is built on the principle that everyone has the right to open power.

However, as we made it clear years ago, these accounts must be completely out of our rules and cannot be used by Twitter to incite violence, among other things. We will continue to be transparent in our enforcement and our policies . ”
