According to estimates by Bloomberg, Musk’s current net worth is about 288.6 billion USD. Musk’s net worth now surpasses Toyota’s market value, which is currently at $282 billion. At the same time, it is far ahead of other rivals of Tesla such as General Motos (capitalization of 83.9 billion USD) and Ford (capitalization reaching 62.8 billion USD).

Such a large increase in wealth is because Mr. Musk currently owns nearly 20% of Tesla shares, making this the main growth driver for this billionaire’s total wealth. A significant portion of these shares were given to Musk in the past year, after Tesla achieved business and financial targets such as Musk’s agreement with major shareholders.

The sharp increase in his net worth also helps Musk to stay ahead of his rival Jeff Bezos in the race to become the richest man on the planet. After Mr. Musk surpassed Mr. Bezos for the first time in January of this year, the position of the richest person in the world was constantly switched between these two rich billionaires. Now Mr. Musk’s position has been firmly established when it is far ahead of his rival Jeff Bezos by nearly $ 100 billion – who is worth about $ 192.6 billion.
