Unpack VinFast Feliz to see what’s inside
Feliz is the latest mid-range electric motorcycle from VinFast. This model is ranked below Klara and above Impes, Ludo in terms of selling price. In terms of size, Feliz is somewhat marginally better than Klara. We have decided to remove all the Feliz to see the specific structure of this electric motorcycle, which costs 24.9 million VND.
The person who disassembled the car was Hainan – an electrical engineer. When removing the original details, Mr. Nam assessed that the quality of this plastic shell finish is quite good, equivalent to Honda motorcycles assembled in Vietnam.
The screws are in an easy-to-see position, so it is easy to remove the car, even for the first time contact with this vehicle. The details are attached together by screws and plastic snaps.
To remove the cover, you only need to open 3 main types of screws. Particularly, the front of the car has an extra screw.
The snaps have a solid construction. Note that there are places where the lever must be pulled horizontally, avoiding straightening and breaking. Mr. Nam assessed that the attachment of the details with such a large lever creates a certainty. However, durability takes time to verify, because the snap joints are susceptible to strong fluctuations in Vietnamese road conditions.
Two lumpy black plastic tiles in a dense vehicle floor area.
The chassis is very sturdy with large steel pipes extending from the top to the rear. Mr. Nam said that this structure gives high rigidity and it is very difficult to be distorted or broken during operation, even on bad roads.
The chassis structure under the floor is also firm and meticulously made.
The wiring system is neatly arranged, running along the side of the vehicle. The connectors are easy to remove. Wire is carefully shielded to avoid fire during use.
The controls are located at the end of the saddle, covered with a protective rubber cover. In this position, the controller is difficult to be affected by external physical factors.
Compared with the rear body, the front end is easier to remove. The front panel is mounted with screws and expansion screws.
The wires at the top of the car are also neatly arranged, creating plenty of free space inside. Current converters, horn systems, speakers, locks … are arranged scientifically so if any problem arises, it will be easy to replace and repair.
Many components come from abroad. Mr. Nam said that this is completely normal when the supporting industry in Vietnam is still young. The research and manufacture of these devices also take a lot of time and effort.
The accessory storage box in the front has a hole-like area for USB charging.
The downside design of the headlight cluster is that it is difficult to adjust the height / low of the light with screws like most motorcycles on the market. Want to adjust the height of the light, know how to choose a suitable screwdriver into the small hole on the left hand side of the steering wheel.
Under the floor of the vehicle, there is a system of 6 batteries. The tank system is held in place by the lower bracket and the upper frame, fastened by screws. The battery is also very easy to remove. Mr. Nam said he was in the process of replacing the battery with a lithium-ion battery to improve operational efficiency, but recommended that those who are not knowledgeable should not try it. According to Mr. Nam, the battery can reduce the cost, but there are many disadvantages such as long charging and low capacity. Feliz probably needs a battery version like the Klara.
The battery fixing frame is missing a small rubber layer in the middle. During use, the block of 6 batteries is still firmly fixed. Even so, this is still a point in need of improvement.
After about 10 minutes, the Feliz was removed almost completely, except for the wheel and the engine attached to the wheel. Nam said that the car is easy to disassemble, easy to repair, and also easy to build. Currently, he has adjusted the rear forks because the original fork is a bit stiff, causing a shock. In the near future, this engineer will build a lithium-ion battery for the car. Commenting on the price compared to what brings, he said Feliz would be a better car if it had a softer price, ranging around 20 million VND.
