The popularity and influence of BLACKPINK on the world music scene is indisputable. Every time “Black Flower” releases music, it is a “earthquake.” Perhaps because of the extremely eye-catching music, bloody dance and beautiful “spotless” female idols, Blackpink attracted a large number of fans of both sexes.
Because of his love for this group, YouTuber with the nickname TaeKeyboards made a custom video of a mechanical keyboard in the style of BLACKPINK. From the steps to choose the keycap, repaint the shell, make the BLACKPINK logo, change the color for the keycap, all this guy made extremely meticulously detailed.
This is a mechanical keyboard model before being converted into the “Black” version. With a compact form factor 60, this is a very popular keyboard type because it’s easy to carry around.
First, the author removed the cover, metal plate, switches, keycap … out. For many models of mechanical keyboards, the switches are soldered on the motherboard so they must be soldered first.
The author has painted black on the edge of the keyboard because this method gives the best color.
Next is the metal plate. Because the border is black, surely pink will be the color instead of this part.
The BLACKPINK logo will make the keyboard more impressive. Especially for those who have a habit of taking it everywhere.

Regarding keycap, the author chose the White-on-black GMK kit and went to dye it.
He prepared pink dye to change the color of the white text in the keycap.
The dyeing is very laborious and time consuming. The author spent 3 times dyeing at different temperatures to create a satisfactory color.
After enough temperature and right mix colors, the next thing to do is “boil” keycap.
The meaning of this is to make the whole white plastic in the doubleshot layer melt and color the dye. Black on the outside will not be affected at all. The result of this process will be the black keycap, but the white inner layer will have a nice pink color, not in touch.
After reaching enough time, take out the keycap!
The whole white text has been changed to pink.
It is beautiful, but the cost is that the keycap has been distorted due to the influence of temperature.
Of course, the BLACKPINK mechanical keyboard must use a black switch. Gateron Ink Blacks V2 is the switch model used by the author and many people use custom mechanical keys.
Then just put together the cover, the motherboard, the switch, the plate together is basically completed this BLACKPINK mechanical keyboard.
Attach the logo and the decorative parts behind.
This keycap re-attaching step is a bit long if you do not remember the location of the keys.
Because the normal Enter key is not very nice, to add accents to the keyboard, the author replaced it with a pink button but added the phrase “In Your Area”.
A sticker that proves that you are “Blink” is also added.
So the Blackpink keyboard is done.
