Analyst Peter Sankar from Cohen & Company predicts that Apple will be able to produce about 116 million new iPhones in the first half of 2020. iPhone production may also vary depending on demand with the iPhone 9 and iPhone 11 series.
According to Cohen’s previous estimates, Apple produced nearly 70 million iPhones in Q4 / 2019. Approximately 52 million units, accounting for 74% of which are iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro .
In addition, Apple is expected to produce an additional 46 million new iPhones in Q1 / 2020. And 6 million of which will be the upcoming iPhone 9.
Analysts say that demand for iPhone 9 will be very high if Apple can price the product in about $ 500 . Sankar predicts that the price of the iPhone 9 might be around $ 475, about the same price as the original iPhone SE.
Forecast iPhone supply will increase sharply in the first half of 2020
Sankar estimated that Apple could boost production of new iPhones in the final quarters of the year. Specifically, Apple may produce more than 43 million iPhones in Q3 / 2020 to meet the increasing demand with new iPhones and festive seasons.
He is also confident that Apple’s future stock price could reach $ 350 per share if the launch of iPhone 9 and iPhone 12 support 5G smoothly.
In addition, the service business continued to reap new success. Services revenue is expected to increase with gross profit margin over 60% as Apple is said to be planning to expand its service business.
Eventually high demand with the current iPhone 11 and stable market sentiment will contribute to Apple’s stock price increase in 2020.
