After its debut in Tunisia early last month, this OPPO A73 was officially brought to the Vietnamese market. This is a product that has changed quite a lot in terms of appearance and it seems that OPPO is wanting to “refresh” its appearance so that users are less bored.
The OPPO A73 makes a strong impression at first sight thanks to the orange tone on the back. Unlike other products in the same segment on the market, which are following the trend of gradient color movement, A73 turns a separate path with the introduction of leatherette plastic to make more difference.
Looking at OPPO A73, the writer suddenly remembered LG’s leather-covered G series products that caused storms 5-6 years ago. However, when holding it in my hand, this A73 makes me feel a little down, because this back is just plastic, combined with grainy texture to create a feeling like leather.
Of course, with a price of only VND 4,990,000, we cannot ask for anything more. In return, when people look at it, they still see that the phone in your hand is different from the smartphone world this year.
The orange tone of the back is somewhat gentle, sometimes depending on the angle of the light will fall in the pastel direction, so it is easy to pair with the outfits of today’s young people.
The OPPO logo is covered in a piece of metal, it feels very retro.
OPPO A73 has 4 rear cameras, arranged in equal 2×2 square clusters. OPPO says it also features a metal outer bezel, inspired by luxury wristwatches.
This 4-camera cluster includes a 16MP main camera, an 8MP super wide-angle camera, a 2MP black-and-white camera and a 2MP depth camera.
Some test shots from the rear camera of OPPO A73, including super wide angle, normal angle and zoom:
The next writer surprise point is the chassis. OPPO has removed the slightly curved bezel to a flat bevel and once again reminds me of the design from its previous R3 series.
Using this design can become a “double-edged sword”, because those who want something new will love but those who are accustomed to holding the curved frame will feel a bit of hand in hand and sometimes annoying if holding watching movies or playing games for a long time.
The frame is covered with rose gold coating, forming a bridge with a gentle transition from the back of the orange to the front of the screen.
The OPPO A73 uses a 6.44 inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution, which is too much to experience high quality images on this phone.
This smartphone still uses the water drop design to place the 16 MP selfie camera, in return the top, left and right edges are all quite thin, except the chin is still thick.
Quick experience shows that this screen has a very nice display color range, high brightness and especially wide viewing angles. In addition, this screen also integrates an internal fingerprint sensor, the only thing I feel sorry is that it only has a 60Hz refresh rate.
In terms of configuration, OPPO A73 is equipped with Snapdragon 662 processor with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of internal memory, enough to handle moderate multitasking and light gaming. Some of the benchmarks I have measured from this phone:
In addition, the device is also equipped with VOOC 4.0 30W fast charging and according to the company says it can recharge a full 4,015 mAh battery in 56 minutes or 30 minutes, which is 72% of the battery.
In general, in terms of appearance, OPPO A73 will create a new but old wind thanks to the retro beauty. As for users who like the modern or want gradient tones, perhaps other competitors in the market will be more suitable (like Samsung or Realme are also doing very well with their low-cost product lines). In addition, the A73’s 30W fast charging can be said to be the “top” in this segment and this is also a must-have highlight if you are a gamer or plowing overnight.
We will publish a detailed review of OPPO A73 in the near future, invite readers to watch.
