Newly designed MacBook Air released at the end of the year, but the hardware is disappointing

At the Peek performance event held by Apple at dawn on February 9, a series of new hardware was introduced including iPhone SE 3 5G, iPad Air M1, new blue iPhone 13 and Mac Studio/ Studio Display. However, the new MacBook Air with the new design that users expected to appear at the last spring event was not introduced.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will still plan to introduce a new MacBook Air in 2022, but it is not clear when. Mass production will soon begin at the end of Q2 to Q3 of this year, so the launch date is likely to be the fall event in September with the iPhone 14.

“Mr” Ming-Chi Kuo shares predictions about the new MacBook Air

According to Kuo, the MacBook Air (2022) will have a new design exactly as previously predicted, and have more color options similar to the iPad Air or iMac. However, because it is a low-cost Mac line, the new MacBook Air will not have a mini-LED or ProMotion screen.

One last thing that Kuo mentioned is the performance of the machine. Accordingly, the MacBook Air (2022) will be equipped with “an upgraded version of the M1 chip” , not the M2 as predicted. The “upgraded version of the M1 chip” is said to be equipped with more GPU cores, for slightly improved graphics performance. Kuo also revealed that the M2 chip will not be introduced this year.
