New solution for the Covid-19 season airlines: Arranging seats in the form of “tip top” to limit passengers close contact

The Covid-19 pandemic is causing a very negative impact on the world economy, in which the aviation and tourism industries are probably suffering the most severe consequences. Experts even say that it will take years for these two sectors to recover, despite the many innovative aircraft hygiene initiatives that have been launched over the past few months.

The aviation industry is heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This is the general situation of many airlines in the world since the beginning of March until now.

Even when the pandemic ends, experts also believe that customers will still have fear and panic psychology when boarding flights full of people like this.

In particular, the economy class suffered the heaviest damage because this is usually the class with a large number of seats thanks to the “chestnut” price.

One of the most common measures that many airlines have been taking is to eliminate middle seats. As such, books will have a safer spacing space when participating in these flights.

Currently, researchers are still working hard to improve the sanitation system in general to be ready to welcome guests back after the epidemic ends. Recently, the Italian airline Aviointeriors has proposed an idea of social spacing right on the plane, which is very unique: The design of the staggered flight seats in the “tip-tail” style, with extra glasses protection to ensure maximum safety for users. If you still haven’t figured it out yet, take a look at the series of photos below and you’ll immediately understand how simple and effective this solution is.

Aviointerior calls this the “Janus Seat” chair, designed in an alternating “tip-top” style and fitted with goggles to ensure the standard of social spacing.

Aviointerior, which has always been loyal to the motto, “the more passengers can be loaded on a flight, the better.” They even designed this type of standing chair to save more space, thereby getting more seats.

However, the Covid-19 pandemic forced them to change their working motto. With each cluster of 3 rows of seats, the middle row will be designed to turn around to limit customers in close contact with each other.

Earlier, Aviointerior originally launched a piece of goggles called “Glassafe” in its anti-Covid-19 prevention campaign.

With safety goggles, passengers will be somewhat more secure when taking the crowded flights. But this is still not the best solution.

This glass only protects the user’s head, while there are plenty of space on both sides and in front of them and they can easily contact close to the person sitting next to them.

And if done alternately like this, the plane has too many seats, not really economically efficient for airlines (and sometimes will cause higher ticket prices than before).

Although it is not the best idea for those who travel with relatives and friends (because they can not talk, interact easily with each other anymore), but the chair design like this will be 1 safer measures but still take full advantage of the aircraft area.

Delta Air Lines is also planning to apply a similar seat model to the first class cabins on the aircraft bearing Airbus A321neo. However, as analyzed above, this type of design is not really optimal in preventing virus spread in general among other passengers.
