Accordingly, in the field of network information security, the number of Vietnamese IP addresses in the botnet in August was 619,610 addresses, down 5% compared to July and down 43.1% over the same period in 2021.

Botnets are known as ghost computer networks consisting of hijacked computing devices used to carry out cyber attacks.

Statistics from the Information Security Administration show that in the first 7 months of 2022, out of 7,624 cyber attacks that caused problems in the information system in Vietnam, malicious code installation incidents had the highest number, with 4,703 incidents, accounting for more than 61.6% and up to 4.3 times the number of interface change attacks.

Previously, the report of the Ministry of Information and Communications at the conference to review the first 6 months of the year and implement the plan for the last 6 months of 2022 showed that in the first 6 months of the year, the number of IP addresses in Vietnam was in the botnet. is 704,939 and the target is only 500,000 addresses by the end of 2022.

Hackers target many domestic websites

In 2021, Vietnam has more than 3,300 domestic websites that have been hacked and changed their interface, an average of more than 700,000 Vietnamese IPs are located in the botnet every month.

In August, the number of blocked phishing websites was 163, an increase of 83.1% compared to July, an increase of 89.5% over the same period in August 2021. The number of subscribers using remote digital signature until August was 30,550, an increase of 153% compared to July, equivalent to 18,491 subscribers.

The field of information and communication accelerates

In August, in the postal sector, the stable macro-economy created opportunities for postal businesses to grow in output and revenue. Postal revenue in August is estimated at VND 5,000 billion, doubling compared to the same period in 2021.

Postal output is estimated at over 186 million postal items, up 120% over the same period in 2021. The total number of products listed on the e-commerce platform in August is 185,513 products.

In the field of telecommunications, as of August, Vietnam has more than 170 members deploying technology to digitally sign Internet resources. The rate of signing Internet resources on Vietnam routing authentication data reached 61% (up 44% compared to 2021, twice the global average, 1.6 times higher than the ASEAN region).

The number of fixed broadband subscribers reached 20.73 million subscribers, up 0.34% from the previous month. The growth rate is stable, it is estimated that by the end of 2022, it will reach 21.7 million subscribers. Mobile broadband subscribers reached 81.8 million, up 0.4% compared to July.

In the field of digital transformation, as of August 20, the total number of online public administrative services provided by ministries, branches and provincial People’s Committees reached 119,464. The number of online public services at level 3 and 4 reached 84,286.

Online public services at levels 3 and 4 have generated records of 51.49%, up 4.6% compared to July. The implementation of the community digital technology group model as of August 23 reached 49/63 provinces, with 42,469 community digital technology groups and 208,308 participants.

Regarding the digital economy, as of August 19, the SMEdx program (supporting small and medium-sized enterprises for digital transformation) had about 379,865 small and medium enterprises accessing and experiencing the Make in Vietnam digital platforms. sharp. Of these, 56,267 businesses officially use the program’s platforms.

In the field of information technology industry, revenue in August is estimated at 334,866 billion VND, up 19% over the same period in 2021 (281,172 billion VND) and increasing 36.56% compared to July (245,220 billion VND). . In 2021, 27 localities have issued plans to develop information technology enterprises and digital technology enterprises. By 2022, 43/63 localities have issued plans to develop digital technology businesses. The goal is that by the end of 2022, 63 provinces and cities will have plans to develop digital technology businesses.

In the field of publishing, printing and distribution, in August, the first number of printed publications was 3,000. The first number of electronic publications is 326 publications, an increase of 24% compared to July, equivalent to 63 publications. In August 2021, publishers do not subscribe to electronic publications. In addition, as of August, there are 9/13 registered publishers for electronic publication using a shared electronic publishing platform.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long requested the Department of Telecommunication, Department of Radio Frequency, Department of Information and Communication Technology Industry to soon complete the Law on Telecommunications and the Law on Digital Technology Industry. The Deputy Minister also requested the Radio Frequency Department, Vietnam Internet Center to conduct auctions of frequencies and network resources.
