Microsoft is committed to all Windows 7 applications to ensure smooth operation on Windows 11

Microsoft’s commitment to ensuring Windows 7 application compatibility on Windows 11 will certainly make many users feel more secure before deciding to update.

In theory, not too many Windows 7 devices are eligible to upgrade to Windows 11 because the new operating system only supports eighth-generation processors or newer. But on the other hand, some organizations may be planning to upgrade their workstations to the latest operating system at launch.

However clearly application compatibility is a big concern for the organizations out there and this is one of the reasons why some people don’t want to switch to a newer operating system in the first place.

Third-party statistics show that Windows 7 continues to be the second most popular operating system on the market, although it is no longer receiving support as of January 2020.

Microsoft insists there’s no need to worry about app compatibility

But with the launch of Windows 11, Microsoft says Windows 7 users have no reason not to upgrade to the operating system, at least in terms of app compatibility.

The company explains: “Microsoft is committed to making sure your applications work on the latest version of our software, and when we developed Windows 11, we kept their compatibility in mind. warrants and declares that applications that work on Windows 7/8.1/10 will work on Windows 11. If you have App Assure, Microsoft will help you fix the application for free.”

Windows 11 is expected to be available as a free upgrade for eligible devices in the late 2021 and early 2022 months.
