LG launches QNED 2022 TV series: Continuing to elevate picture and sound quality

On November 8, LG announced a new generation of QNED TV series for 2022 with quality upgrades as well as the addition of new options. In addition to core technologies such as Quantum Dot and NanoCell, LG QNED 2022 adds Precision Dimming Pro+ local dark technology and applies Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro optimized color tones for images with depth and high contrast.

LG QNED 2022 also expands the size range from 50 inches to 86 inches and adds a product model using LED panels next to MiniLED to meet diverse user needs, especially when the world’s largest football tournament and The year-end festival season is approaching.

Quantum Dot and NanoCell imaging technology

Besides products using OLED panels, LG also develops an upgraded TV line of traditional LCD technology called QNED. The word QNED is a combination of technologies found on these product lines, including Quantum Dot, NanoCell color filter and LCD panel. Thanks to the addition of NanoCell color filter in addition to Quantom Dot Quantum Dot technology, LG QNED delivers pure brilliant picture quality.

By 2022, LG will add 2 other image enhancement technologies including Precision Dimming Pro+ local dimming technology – allowing thousands of display areas to be controlled for the most accurate backlight control; and Multi-tone HDR image mapping analyze and optimize color areas and contrast.

Powerful processor, upgraded surround sound space

At the heart of the QNED 2022 TV models is the most advanced α9 Gen5 AI processor. In particular, α9 Gen5 AI 8K will be equipped on the high-end QNED 99 series, while a7 Gen5 AI 4K is the “brain” of QNED 86/80 and a5 Gen 5 AI 4K for QNED 7S.

Not only expanding the capabilities of AI Picture Pro to help identify the type of content being played and remove noise, the new processor enhances the AI ​​Sound Pro feature to bring users into the 3D sound space. This year’s TV models will convert 2-way audio into extremely vivid, realistic 7.1.2 or 5.1.2 virtual surround sound. Add simulated noise from above and from behind for the feeling of sound coming from all directions like at the cinema.
