Flexible screens are already used on smartphones and even laptops, but for LG, the use of this screen does not stop at such small things. At the CES 2022 event, they brought two extremely unique OLED screens.

Both are currently conceptual products, the first being the “Media Chair”, which is a system consisting of a seat and a 55-inch curved and swiveling OLED TV screen, both the chair and the screen. housed inside a circular frame that looks very impressive. The speakers are built into the chair and the TV has the ability to vibrate to create its own sound, so you get a feeling close to the 3D sound effect.

There is a button on the chair to rotate the screen in landscape or portrait orientation depending on your use, such as watching movies or browsing the web. LG says the display is curved 1500R (same curvature of a circle with a 1500mm radius), so you can sit close to the screen and still see everything without having to turn your head.

For now, the Media Chair is still a concept product, but LG Display said it will partner with a Korean massage chair manufacturer to bring the product to market.

LG’s second product is equally unique and aimed at sports enthusiasts. Called “Virtual Ride”, it uses three 55-inch curved OLED screens placed in front of a cycling chair. The screen will stretch from the ground and then curve up over the head of the occupant.

The idea of Virtual Ride is to help people who are practicing cycling on the spot have a more realistic feeling when the scene in front moves along, or if you like, you can also turn on a movie to watch and forget about the fatigue. hard when cycling.

What’s impressive is that the top screen has a curved section with a radius of just 500mm (500R), which LG Display says is the narrowest curve ever on a large display.

LG has no plans to commercialize Virtual Ride yet.
