ASUS is preparing to launch the successor of ROG Flow X13, a laptop that can convert into a tablet and also have high performance for gaming. The next device will be called ROG Flow Z13, and Evan Blass recently posted a leaked photo of this laptop. At a glance, the ROG Flow Z13 has a new design and is very similar to Microsoft’s Surface Pro.

ROG Flow Z13 will actually be a tablet, with a square-to-edge design, accompanied by a separate keyboard. The design is very typical of the Surface Pro series. However, like its predecessor, the ROG Flow Z13 will be able to attach to an external ASUS eGPU base called XG Mobile.

The eGPU also acts as a hub to expand a number of ports for the Flow Z13, and turns this 13-inch tablet into a true gaming machine. This laptop will also be a direct competitor to Microsoft’s Surface Pro line, so the software giant has reason to be concerned in the near term.

ASUS just launched the ROG Flow X13 this year, so the ROG Flow Z13 is likely to be released early next year. It is possible that ASUS’ Surface Pro will be introduced at the CES 2022 event in January.
